Brochure “mini-features” that enhance your Design
Brochure printing is a marriage of a lot of different elements. Aspects like color, images, texts, and the layout of these things play a part in trying to make things beautiful and functional when printing brochures. Besides that however, there are also smaller features that you can integrate in to your brochure printing designs to enhance the overall experience of reading that brochure. Below are some of these that you might be interested in.
The preview text box: A preview text box, is a small bordered area of text that is placed inside or beside paragraphs. Usually the text in the preview box is larger than the normal body text and is always very noticeable. Brochure layout artists usually use preview text boxes to give people a short glimpse of what the section or paragraph is all about. It is obviously a preview of the content, so that people will be enticed to read that particular section in the brochure, enhancing its impact. Typically the preview text contains the best line or quote from the section or paragraph so that it can highlight the most informative or entertaining section of the brochure section.
The preview quote: Now a preview quote is much like the preview text box above. The only difference really is that it has no box or border. It only has a reserved space inside or beside the paragraph to make sure that the quote can be seen. Again, just like the preview text box, the text itself for a preview quote is usually larger than the text body, and often times it is also printed in bold letters. Preview quotes are usually used to highlight nice one liner quotes from a customer testimonial or official interview that is printed in the brochure. It gives people a chance to judge with a glance if they want to read about the interview or testimonial.
Captioned photographs: Also, it may seem like an obvious element to add in, but captions for photographs are also something that you should consciously consider placing into your brochures. Some people forget putting captions in their brochure images, and this leads to a lot of confusion sometimes on what truly is the message of the brochure images. Adding in a caption for photographs gives people some assurance as to what exactly are they seeing in the picture.
Encircled or shaped facts: Next we have a specially marked texts or facts. These are typically those catch phrases or messages of encouragement to brochure readers that are placed within certain shapes to make them stand out. For example you have a big circle that contains the text 'Save 50%', which encourages people to take advantage of the offer. This special phrases and facts can add in an extra 'flavor' to your brochure design, which can invite your brochure readers to take action on what they are reading.
Boldness and Italics: Finally, we have the use of bold and italic text within the body texts itself. This can be a very simple proposition but in fact these go a long way in making people remember what they read. If you see a term in bold or italic, you definitely stop a bit and see why that term is so important. So it is a good way to make people focus on certain crucial elements and information on your brochure.
